Fayette Regional Care Pavilion “Spring into Summer Carnival” – Friday, June 6
CONNERSVILLE, IN — Families of the Whitewater Valley are invited to participate in the Spring into Summer Carnival presented by Fayette Regional Care Pavilion in Connersville through a grant provided by the Children’s Bureau. The carnival is FREE to the public, and will be held on Friday, June 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Fayette Regional Care Pavilion -- 450 Erie Ave, Connersville.
This is a great opportunity for the entire family to participate in a fun and educational event highlighting the excellent wellness opportunities Fayette Regional Care Pavilion has to offer. The carnival will feature many children’s games and activities, and there will be music and drumming demonstrations for children and adults too. Visitors will have the opportunity to register for door prizes, which include: bikes, gift certificates, gift cards and home décor items. A FREE unch will served as well.
Therapists from Fayette Regional Care Pavilion’s outpatient clinic will be on hand with health information topics, such as: benefits of drinking water, nutritional eating, mental health treatment options and substance abuse/prevention. There will also be information regarding upcoming music therapy, parenting classes and self-care groups for persons in the helping professions -- taught by therapists Tom Deters and Beverly Heuer.
Care Pavilion therapists will also present specific information on other group therapy and classes offered in June, including: “Coffee and Canvas” -- a creative class that helps teens develop healthy coping skills for life’s stressors through music and art. These sessions will be led by Martha Bowman, licensed mental health counselor and board-certified music therapist, and Kelle Beckham, licensed clinical social worker.
