Christmas Tree Recycling at Cope Environmental Center

Dec 25, 2012 - Jan 31, 2013

Cope Environmental Center trails don’t maintain themselves. Make your holiday season a sustainable one by recycling your Christmas trees into wood chips! RP&L does the chipping for free, and CEC spreads the wood chips on our trails for easy hiking. The best part of this opportunity? You can come out for a hike on CEC trails and see the results of your contribution for yourself! CEC is accepting trees from December 25th to January 31st, just drop them off in the lower lot by the mulch pile. Happy holidays from everyone at Cope, and remember: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

Twenty years ago, Jim and Helen Cope partnered with their friend, Francis Parks, to found the Cope Environmental Center. Despite many changes over the years, their mission then remains CEC’s mission today: to promote the sustainable use of the earth’s resources through education, demonstration and research. CEC works with children, school groups, communities, businesses and individuals teaching environmental stewardship and sustainability.
