Maple Syrup Madness

Mar 2, 2013 10:00am - 12:00pm

Have you ever wondered how maple syrup is made? Or what it means to “tap” a tree? Now is your chance to learn! Come out to CEC with the family on Saturday, March 2nd to explore the science, history, and of course FUN of making maple syrup! The event will go from 10AM to 12PM, followed by a pancake breakfast that will of course include maple syrup. The registration fee is $8 for non-members, $5 for members, and $4 for children under 12. This program has limited spaces, so register today, and don’t forget to dress for the weather!

Twenty years ago, Jim and Helen Cope partnered with their friend, Francis Parks, to found the Cope Environmental Center. Despite many changes over the years, their mission then remains CEC’s mission today: to promote the sustainable use of the earth’s resources through education, demonstration and research. CEC works with children, school groups, communities, businesses and individuals teaching environmental stewardship and sustainability.
