(Gratis, OH)--An early-morning car crash in Preble County on Monday knocked out power to 5000 residents. The crash took out a transmission pole on Gratis Enterprise Road. That pole delivers power to multiple substations. "We found a vehicle that had hit the wires to the pole. It snapped the pole. The electric was out to the entire village and part of the township," said Joe Burgess with the Gratis Fire Department. By 8 a.m., only about 500 customers of DP&L remained out. A teenage girl was driving. She was not seriously hurt.
