(Eaton, OH)--The West Alexandria mother who admitted to causing the death of her 21-month-old son was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison. 41-year-old Christy Warwick had earlier pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors and defense attorneys argued over the length of her sentence Wednesday. "The family has suffered a terrible loss. Now, given the length of this sentence, the family will continue to feel an even greater loss and will not be able to heal as a unit," said defense attorney Brian Muenchenbach. Sylas Warwick died a year ago from blunt force trauma to the head. He was also malnourished.
