(Wayne County)- The Wayne County Commissioners are buying cyber security insurance to help cover the cost of a potential hack of the county’s systems. Commissioners agreed to the one-year policy at a cost of roughly 85-hundred dollars following the hacking of Madison County’s computer systems in November. The installment of ransomware on the county’s computers forced them to conduct business using paper and pencil until Madison commissioners agreed to pay the ransom.
