(Richmond, IN)--An arrest has been made in connection with last week’s murder on South F  Street in Richmond.  25-year-old James Childers, who is known to many as “Jim-Jim” was booked into the Wayne County Jail Monday night after being apprehended at South 9th and M.  Childers allegedly stabbed 22-year-old Austin Sparks last week.  Sparks died shortly afterward.  Investigators have not yet commented on what Childers’ motive was.  The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force helped with the investigation.  Just a week before the murder, Childers had appeared in a Wayne County courtroom to be sentenced for felony battery.  Childers was sentenced to a year and a half in jail with all but a hundred days suspended.  A judge ruled that Childers had already served his time and he was released.  Childers was jailed three different times last year.  Back in 2013, he was also jailed for battery and strangulation.
