(Richmond, IN)--A ceiling collapsed at the Holiday Inn in Richmond early Wednesday morning. Mike Davis explains what firefighters encountered when they arrived at around 12:30 Wednesday morning. "We found heavy water flow from a broken sprinkler head and a ceiling collapse in an area outside of a couple of conference rooms." All of the hotel’s 99 rooms had been sold for the night, but none of the occupants were in danger. "No rooms were compromised. There were no public safety issues to worry about," Davis said. Davis added that some guests went outside. Others remained inside. "There was not a total evacuation, but everybody was awake and aware of what was going on." Clean-up will continue Wednesday.
