(Brookville, IN)--There was an officer-involved shooting in northern Franklin County Wednesday that resulted in one man’s death. It began when an 82-year-old woman went to law enforcement to report that her grandson was acting erratically. A deputy arrived at a home on State Road 101 across from Hickory Woods Campground. That deputy encountered 29-year-old Don Parker Junior, who was armed with multiple weapons. Two Brookville police officers arrived on the scene as Parker stepped onto a porch with at least one gun. "Due to his actions and him waving the weapons around and pointing them in their direction, they chose to take action and to stop that threat," said Stephen Wheeles with the Indiana State Police. Both officers shot Parker. He was taken to Reid Health where he was pronounced dead.
