(Richmond, IN)--Conditions are so bad at McBride Stadium in Richmond that the man who is largely responsible for its improvements in the last 25 years removed the plaque bearing his name. John Cate recently removed his own plaque. Mayor Dave Snow addressed the issue with Common Council Monday night. Snow acknowledged that conditions need to be improved but said that the field itself is safe and passed along what the RHS baseball coach told him. "I'm not concerned that my first baseman is going to end up at the orthodontist over a broken tooth after tripping over something." Snow said that Park Superintendent Denise Retz had a work plan to improve McBride, but details were not discussed publically Monday night.
