(Richmond, IN)--By 7 o’clock Tuesday morning, Reid Health’s emergency room was again accepting patients after an overnight power outage. Firefighters were sent to Reid at just before 1 o’clock Tuesday morning after what is assumed to have been a lightning strike. Power went out and backup generators also failed in at least a part of the hospital. No patients were moved out of their rooms, but multiple patients had to be diverted to the Preble County Medical Center in Eaton. The most recent confirmed patient went to Eaton at 5:50 Tuesday morning. That was for a possible stroke that was occurring on University Boulevard – just a few blocks from Reid. Reid sent a short message to Kicks 96 and the Point Tuesday morning saying that patient care has continued uninterrupted.
