(Wayne County, IN)--A new state report shows how much tax caps are expected to impact Richmond in the next year. Tax caps limit how much local governments can collect on residential and commercial property taxes. According to the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance, the city of Richmond will lose out on $4.1 million in 2018. The rest of Wayne County will lose out on an additional $3.2 million. Connersville will also be hit hard. Next year it will have to do without $3.6 million. The effect on Liberty and Brookville is not nearly as significant. Those two communities combined will lose a quarter of a million dollars.
