(Centerville, IN)--There was a high speed chase through western Wayne County Monday. It began when an officer noticed someone cutting up marijuana in a Jeep near Bentonville Road late Monday morning. The driver fled to U.S. 40 and, according to scanner traffic, hit speeds of 135 miles per hour. At one point, he tried to hit a state trooper. The Jeep eventually gave out and the driver fled on foot. He was caught after a short chase. The man was taken to the Henry County Jail and had an active warrant in Lake County. Two handguns were found under the Jeep’s driver’s seat. The suspect’s name has not been released.
