(Centerville, IN)--Here’s a story of two local law enforcement officers who went above and beyond the call this weekend. An elderly couple from the Dayton area was traveling along I-70. They were both confused and dealing with medical issues. When their car was stopped on 70, Cambridge City Officer Tim Gard and Wayne County Deputy Nick Gulde realized the couple had nowhere to go and had not eaten in two days. Officer Gard paid for a motel room in Centerville with his own money while Deputy Gulde paid for their food. Family members were located and they were returned to the Dayton area Sunday night.
