(Richmond, IN)--The first steps to take down old Reid began Monday. Richmond Common Council got an update on the project Monday night and learned that one of the companies began the process Monday by removing some brush and beginning to put up a construction fence. Environmental remediation is scheduled to begin in two weeks. The city still has to sign a nearly $3.5 million contract with the company that will take the buildings down. That signing will likely happen this Thursday. Old Reid is forecast to be completely gone in a year and a half.
