(Richmond, IN)--The good news is that the flu appears to have peaked in the Whitewater Valley; the bad news is that it’s expected to hang around for several more weeks. Kim Schneider monitors flu cases at Reid Health. She said Thursday that there have been 1,541 positive flu tests this flu season at Reid. That’s three times as many as the last flu season. The average weekly number of cases has started to decline. Still, Reid saw 143 cases last week. 166 people this season have had to be hospitalized. That’s four times as many as last flu season.
