(Whitewater Valley)--The Whitewater Valley is drying out now after flooding rains inundated the area Tuesday.  Officially, about three and a half inchesof rain fell in Richmond, although many rain gages measured significantly higher.  There are multiple county roads still closed across the area, although just a few are heavily traveled.  State Roads 1 and 28 in Randolph County remained closed Wednesday morning.  Also closed was the south end of Pennville Road in Fayette County.  All dry fords in Union County are closed.  The Whitewater River in Brookville was at 21 feet Wednesday morning.  That’s a foot above flood stage.
