(Richmond, IN)--The Richmond Community School Board on Wednesday night narrowly agreed with a recommendation from Superintendent Todd Terrill to change elementary school boundaries. "I recommend that we adjust the elementary school boundaries with the goal of every school being at 85% capacity," Terrill told the Board. Some schools are over that mark; some are under. But some Board members were upset that a major change came so quickly. "Discussion essentially has been the last five days via email with half the Board participating and no community and no involvement with anybody else. That's just not the way I like to do things," said Board member Jeff Slifer. The Board voted 4-3 to approve Terrill’s recommendation for elementary boundary changes. Changes will take effect at the beginning of the next school year.
