Michael Ray's "Whiskey And Rain" is the little song that could.
Ray took the quiet road after his divorce from Carly Pearce and let time do what it does, and now "Whiskey And Rain" is the number 1 song on country radio this week.
He woke up Sunday morning (Jan. 9) and thanked fans for helping him hit that number 1 spot in an emotional video.
"We did it, man," he began holding back the tears.
He thanked his team, radio, fans adding, "This is a special one."
Chris Young was quick to comment, "Happy for you bro!"

Back in August of 2021 when his EP dropped, Michael was asked in an interview if he was getting personal on the new EP. He was quick to say that he's not about throwing shade.
