(Connersville, IN)--Law enforcement agencies in Fayette County held a press conference Thursday to discuss details of Task Force Connersville. "Our goal for this whole thing is to arrest the drug dealers and try to stop the drugs coming in from our community," said Connersville Police Chief David Councilor. Figures released Thursday show that, since September, eight people have now died from heroin overdoses and 41 more have been hospitalized. According to Assistant Chief Dennis Perkins, the goal is more than just making arrests. "We decided to go at it with a different approach and actually get the ones that are being arrested help with kicking the habit." 17 people have already been arrested by the newly-formed task force.
