(Richmond, IN)--There was an initial report of a shooting in Richmond at just before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officers were called to an area in the 200 block of North 7th. When police arrived, one younger male told officers he had been pistol-whipped and targeted in a shooting. He was not shot. But, he told police that when a car occupied by multiple people drove away, he heard someone inside the car say that they had been shot. RPD investigators went to Reid Hospital to see if anyone arrived to be treated for a gunshot wound. At 7:30 a.m., investigators indicated that they were not able to find any evidence that a crime occurred. The alleged victim did show signs of a minor injury. He was treated and released.
