TWO KILLED, INCLUDING ONE GOOD SAMARITAN, IN DARKE COUNTY CRASH

(Darke County, OH)--The names of two area residents killed Sunday night have now been released.  49-year-old Richard Stevenson of Union City had crashed on State Route 571.  He was trapped, but was alive.  47-year-old Linda Shafer was among a group of people who had stopped to help.  Then, the driver of a Jeep crashed into the group, killing both Stevenson and Shafer.  Shawn Trissle with the Ohio Highway Patrol said the driver of the Jeep may have been drinking.  "There is evidence that alcohol could be a factor, so we're looking into all aspects of that.  He is being investigated right now and talked to by deputies," Trissle said.  571 re-opened at 3:30 Monday morning.
