(Wayne County, IN)--The Indiana Youth Institute has just released a brand-new set of demographics regarding kids in Wayne County. Some of the numbers are very telling. Here’s a look: On the downside, the number of people on food stamps in Wayne County is up a whopping 22% in the last five years…now more than 12,000. Median household income is down 6% to $36,500 since 2009. But, on the upside, the number of people in their early 20’s in Wayne County is up slightly, meaning they’re choosing to stay. Also, the number of kids covered by health insurance is up 16% in the last four years. And, the number of teenage pregnancies in Wayne County is down 37% in the last five years.
