(West Alexandria, OH)--The Preble County mother of the two children who died in an overnight fire last weekend was drunk when she came home at 7 o’clock that morning - about four hours after the children died after being left home alone overnight. That’s one of the allegations contained in an affidavit released Wednesday in the charging of 35-year-old Chastity Hall. "The mother failed recklessly to live up to her duty to care and support and protect those children," said Prosecutor Martin Votel. Hall has been charged with two counts of child endangering, but those charges could be increased. "This matter is continuing to be investigated," Votel explained. A grand jury is scheduled to hear evidence on Monday. Hall had two other children removed from her custody well before last weekend’s double-fatal fire.
