(Hagerstown, IN)--The railroad crossing on State Road 1 just outside of Hagerstown is operational now, but that wasn’t the case early Friday morning.  A semi driver tried to beat an oncoming train, changed his mind at the last second, slammed on his brakes, and crashed.  The train and the truck never collided, but the crossing arm was damaged.  1 was closed for several hours.  The driver suffered minor injuries.
