(Richmond, IN)--Wayne County lawmakers have made public comments on Indiana’s controversial Religious Freedom bill. State Representative Dick Hamm of Richmond and State Senator Jeff Raatz of Centerville both voted in favor. Raatz said that the law clarifies the standard of review a judge can use. But, more importantly, he said the law has never successfully been used in denying services to the gay community in any of the 30 states where the law already exists. Hamm said it’s essentially the same federal law that was signed by then-President Bill Clinton.
