(Richmond, IN)--Reid Hospital has requested what’s called a Special Notice Letter that will allow them to pursue insurance policies for cleanup of contaminates present in the soil of the old Reid campus. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management met with Reid two weeks ago after the property was found to contain contaminates like arsenic and thallium. Demolition of the property would cost millions even without the environmental issues. Reid no longer owns the property. Its real owners are on the east coast and have abandoned it. They own $330,000 in back taxes.
