VILLAGE PANTRY ROBBED; MAN ARRESTED NEARBY FOR ATTACKING OFFICER

(Richmond, IN)--A man dressed in all black produced a handgun at the Village Pantry on South E Street at around 2 o’clock Sunday morning.  He fled down an alley.  About four hours later, there was a report at the same Village Pantry of a man with a gun.  Shortly after that call, 32-year-old Charles Cross was arrested nearby.  Cross was allegedly in possession of a handgun and drugs and battered a police officer.  He was in the Wayne County Jail Monday morning, but has not been charged with the robbery.
