(Richmond, IN)--Richmond Common Council Monday night discussed the city’s Uptown parking garage. Council heard from Uptown business owners who indicated that on-street parking continues to be a problem. Those merchants also suggested improving safety inside the garage by adding cameras and upgrading lighting. By an 8-1 vote, council approved assessing a $50 fine to vehicles that are parked too long in the garage. The fine would be cut in half if paid early. Parking on the upper levels of the garage will be by permit only.
