(Richmond, IN)--The Richmond Redevelopment Commission will decide Wednesday whether or not to allocate $120,000 to repair the crumbling wall at the Paulee Restaurant site in the Depot District. Mayoral candidate Kyle Ingram said the decision is best left in the hands of the Redevelopment Commission, but said it’s a problem that’s lingered long enough. "Put the pressure on all those involved to get it fixed as fast as possible or as soon as the process will permit," Ingram said. Ingram said the issue is bigger than just the Paulee wall. "There are several businesses that could use Redevelopment dollars to fix issues that they have. I just see this being an issue where you could have a domino effect. Dave Snow said the problem should have never gotten to this point. "The ball has been kicked so far down the road at this point that the city has to put the safety of our citizens and economic growth as a top priority." And, Snow added "This will not set a precedent for my future administration. I will fully expect private business to resolve issues on their own instead of putting a burden on the taxpayers." The commission meets at noon in council chambers.
