(Richmond, IN)--Richmond police were able to track down and apprehend the man who allegedly robbed the Uptown branch of Chase Bank Wednesday afternoon. 22-year-old Shane Newton pointed a gun at a teller and demanded cash. Surveillance images were distributed shortly afterward. Officers got a tip that a man who resembled the robber was at Fricker’s on I-70. Newton fled on foot shortly before police arrived. He was then tracked by a canine officer to a wooded area between Highland Road and I-70 where a large amount of cash was found. Newton was being held Thursday on a $25,000 bond.
