TRIAL DATE SET FOR RICHMOND BATTERY CASE

(RICHMOND)-The 68-year-old Richmond woman who was arrested on July 20th for battery with a lamp now has a trial date of September 25th, and is now being charged with a class B misdemeanor. Christie Lear called police to her house around 3am on July 20th in suspicion that the 14-year-old girl in her home was in the company of a teenage boy. When police arrived, they found the boy on the stairs leading to the attic. Lear then proceeded to smack the boy and hit him with a lamp. When the officer tried to stop Lear, she struck him with the lamp, as well. If convicted, Lear could spend up to 180 days in jail and have fines up to 1 thousand dollars.
