WAYNE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ADDRESS NEW JAIL PROBLEMS

(Richmond, IN)--Wayne County Commissioners got an update on the condition of the county jail Wednesday, and it’s not good.  Continuous repairs have been made recently to rotting water pipes.  A recent analysis indicated a disinfectant in the water may be causing corrosion.  Estimates for repair are as high as $2 million.  And, a solution is still being sought for a leaky jail roof.  Leaders will address the jail problems again in two weeks.  The building is only 11 years old.
