(Richmond, IN)--A Richmond child molester was handed a 17-year prison sentence Thursday as part of a plea deal.  29-year-old Scott Shaffer admitted that he molested a girl in her early teens when the girl’s mother was away at work.  The victim has undergone counseling.  Shaffer has been in jail since his arrest a little more than a year ago.  He will also have to register as a sex offender.
