(Richmond, IN)--Fire did heavy damage to a vacant Richmond home. It broke out at 1:30 Monday morning at a home in the 200 block of North 21st. The homeowner told Battalion Chief Eric Holmes that there had been suspicious activity. "He told me that there had been vagrants in and out of it over the years," Holmes said. Crews successfully saved neighboring houses. "My crews did an excellent job getting it stopped because we didn't even have any exposure problem. The houses next door...they never burned," Holmes said. Holmes said the house was 75% destroyed.
