HUNDREDS OF PIGS DIE IN RANDOLPH COUNTY FIRE

(Randolph County, IN)--Hundreds of pigs were killed in a massive barn fire near Union City on Saturday.  "We put our lives into this, and it's all up in flames," said Jessica Boehringer, who is a third-generation Randolph County farmer.   51 sows and more than 500 pigs were killed.  The loss is into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.  "I was just in the barn yesterday morning taking care of all those pigs - getting ready to sell them.  But there's nothing to sell now," Boehringer added.  There’s no word yet on what started the fire.  Other animals survived.  The family is deciding whether or not to rebuild.
