(Richmond, IN)--Two women were hurt Thursday morning when the SUV they were in slammed into a utility pole on Fort Wayne Avenue in Richmond. It happened just after midnight at the CMJ Corporation building across from the old Warner School. Multiple high voltage lines came down. That resulted in sporadic power outages in the area Thursday morning. But Battalion Chief Eric Holmes said it could have been much worse. "We all got lucky. It was about eight inches away from hitting an industrial gas line on that brick building. It could have been a disaster." Holmes said. The women’s identities and conditions have not been released.
