HIGH WINDS DOWN TREES, POWER LINES

(Whitewater Valley)--Virtually all power had been restored by 6 o'clock Thursday morning after a line of storms with high winds and heavy rain swept across the Whitewater Valley late Wednesday afternoon.  A tornado warning went into effect at just before 5 Wednesday afternoon for parts of Wayne, Preble, and Darke County.  No tornado was sighted.  Still, there was substantial damage.  Much of it in Richmond happened in the area of North West 11th and Progress Drive where a large tree brought down power lines.  Lines were down in eight other Richmond locations.  In the Fountain City area, two outbuildings were reportedly destroyed on a farm.  There were no injuries.  Thursday morning, all roads were reportedly open in all Whitewater Valley counties.
