(Richmond, IN)--Earlier this week, we told you that Wayne County’s population has dropped by more than 400 people in the last year and by 1900 people in the last five years. Here’s a follow-up. Data from the same report shows that not only is Wayne County getting smaller, it’s also getting older. In 2000, 48% of adult Wayne County residents were under the age of 45. By 2007, that number had dropped to 44%. And, today, it’s down to 41%. Other area counties are also aging, but not as dramatically.
