(Richmond, IN)--State highway workers were shutting down at least one lane of eastbound I-70 Monday morning. There were three accidents this weekend in the eastbound lanes of 70 between Chester Boulevard and State Road 227. There was another one at around 5:45 Monday morning. That two-mile stretch is especially rough and contains several deep potholes. Several years ago, one local company resurfaced the highway even though it was not in rough shape at the time. The stretch of interstate has been a problem ever since, despite several attempts at correcting the original work.
