(Richmond, IN)--Wayne County’s proposed needle exchange program for drug addicts received the unanimous approval of county commissioners Wednesday. The county still needs the approval of the state before the program can begin. "The state knows our situation as far as it relates to where it ranks. I'd like to get this moving," said County Attorney Ron Cross Wednesday. The state’s approval, which is expected to be granted, would pave the way for Wayne County’s Health Department to operate an exchange for two hours each week. Centerstone is expected to host the exchange at one of its Richmond facilities.
