MAN POINTS BOW AND ARROW AT WAYNE COUNTY DEPUTY

(Wayne County, IN)--A sheriff’s deputy in Wayne County escaped serious injury after allegedly being attacked by a man armed with a bow and arrow.  Sergeant Jeff Chenowith was sent to an area near Cart and Inke Road at 7:30 Tuesday night.  There, 28-year-old Zachary Karanovich allegedly pointed the bow and arrow at Chenowith, but never shot it.  The two got into a brief fistfight.  Karanovich fled on foot and was caught a short distance away.  Chenowith was taken to Reid Health and was released.  Karanovich was taken to the Wayne County Jail.  He has a lengthy criminal record, mostly involving alcohol.
