COUNCIL ADDRESSES INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCING FOR POSSIBLE INDUSTRIAL PARK TENANT

(Richmond, IN)--A pet food manufacturer may want to locate a new facility in the Midwest Industrial Park in Richmond.  It would bring 165 jobs in two years.  But, questions about preparing the area for the company arose at Monday night’s meeting of the Richmond Common Council.  A railroad spur would cost a million dollars.  Widening Gaar-Jackson Road would cost another $3.5 million.  Three entities maintain that road now – Richmond, Centerville, and Wayne County.  How the cost would be divided is yet to be determined.  The company wants an agreement by the end of the month.  A special council meeting has been set for next week.
