(Richmond, IN)--Wayne County’s needle exchange program will start next month and will be located in the heart of one of Richmond’s most drug-infested areas. It will be located in Centerstone’s Recovery Engagement Center in the 200 block of North 13th Street. The exchange will take place for two hours on one Thursday of each month. The goal continues to be to reduce the spread of Hepatitis C and reduce the cost of treatment to county taxpayers. Treating just one case can cost $100,000. In a two-month period ending last month, 27 new Wayne County cases were discovered.
