(Brookville, IN)--Discussions about the Nativity scene on the lawn of the Franklin County Courthouse this year have already begun. Last year, commissioners allowed anyone to rent space on the lawn to comply with complaints from an anti-religious group about the Nativity scene, which had stood for 60 years. But it became a free-for-all, with one space promoting Hell. The Brookville Town Council owns the Nativity figurines and has now disallowed their use this year. County commissioners now must decide if they’ll purchase figurines for about $6500.
