(Richmond, IN)--Concerned citizens filled seats, lined walls, and even sat on the floor as the Wayne County Advisory Plan Commission took up the controversial wind turbine issue Monday night.  The majority of the couple of dozen people who spoke opposed wind farm development.  After close to three hours, the commission recommended that the county change its ordinances regarding wind farms.  The recommendation is just that, though…a recommendation.  The county’s three commissioners will have the final say when they meet Wednesday.  A decision to change the ordinances essentially means that no wind farm develop can take place in Wayne County until those ordinances are revisited.  A company called EDP Renewables is considering building multiple tall turbines in the Economy area.
