(Liberty, IN)--The appeals have been exhausted for a Union County murderer. Late last week, the Indiana Supreme Court denied hearing the petition of Bert McQueen. McQueen killed Brandon Wicker in Brownsville two and a half years ago. McQueen’s appeal was based in part on his assertion that the murder was not especially gruesome and that the 63-year-sentence was too long. McQueen also claimed he was not the worst of the worst, despite more than 30 previous criminal convictions.
