(Eaton, OH)--Residents near the fairgrounds in Eaton were warned to shelter in place Thursday after a man who was hauling half a million dollars of heroin on I-70 escaped police custody. Ohio Highway Patrol troopers had placed the Hispanic man in a cruiser when they found five kilos of heroin during a traffic stop. When he got into Eaton, the man was able to escape. "We don't know exactly how he was able to get out of the cruiser yet," said OHP Trooper Danny Springs. That led to a manhunt that lasted several hours. The suspect was finally found and taken into custody at around 10:30 Thursday night.
