MAN JAILED AFTER SMASHING HOUSING AUTHORITY BUILDING'S WINDOWS

(Richmond, IN)--A New York man was in the Wayne County Jail Tuesday morning after an incident on South 15th Street in Richmond Monday.  People in the area originally thought that someone was firing shots from the Merle Henderson Apartments.  As officers investigated, they found that no shots had been fired but that the man had stolen a fire extinguisher from a nearby church and broken out windows at a Richmond Housing Authority Building.  He faces multiple charges, including burglary and criminal trespass.  No reason for the incident has been released.
