(Richmond, IN)--A car driven by a drunken driver smashed into a house in Richmond Friday morning. It happened at about 1:30 Friday morning in the first block of South 17th. A woman later identified as 32-year-old Charlene Byrd of Fort Wayne smashed into the house. "There was some damage to the brick porch," said Battalion Chief Jeff Glenn. She was able to drive away, but not before hitting a parked car. Police were able to track her down on South 11th. She was taken first to Reid Health because of a blood alcohol content of .258. That’s more than three times the legal limit. She then went to the Wayne County Jail. No one in the house was hurt.
